For all Georgia Auto Owners, if you have selected $25,000 Reduced Underinsured Motorist Coverage (UIM), you are practically paying for no UIM at all. If you are in a collision, and your injuries justify being paid the policy limits by the person who is at-fault, you can then proceed with pursuing an UIM claim with your auto insurance company. HOWEVER, if you have selected REDUCED or DIFFERENCE-IN-LIMITS coverage, you will have no additional coverage to pursue.
Believe it or not. The At-Fault Party is not to blame because he/she has the state minimum in coverage. You have a responsibility to insure that you’re properly covered.
You are doing yourself a huge injustice and disservice if you do not choose UIM Add-On Coverage!
