Generally speaking, there are three types of catastrophic injuries:
1. Physical Injuries: These injuries may involve amputations, burns, life-altering fractures, or damage to organs;
2. Spinal Cord Injuries: These injuries involve the spinal cord, thereby creating permanent mobility issues for victims; and
3. Cognitive Injuries: These injuries typically result from damage to the brain in such a way that it eliminates the victim’s ability to work, speak, or operate with full functional capabilities.
